Shaun Debenham brings nearly two decades of hands-on experience in real estate development, property management, and brokerage, along with a deep academic foundation. He holds two graduate degrees from MIT, one in Structural Engineering and another in Real Estate Development, a combination that uniquely equips him to lead complex projects from the ground up.
 
Over the past 18 years, Shaun has worn every hat in the industry: developer, property manager, licensed real estate agent, and for the last 9 years, a licensed general contractor overseeing multifamily and mixed-use construction.
 
Shaun is a frequent speaker for organizations like BOMA, IREM, and other real estate forums, where he shares insights on urban infill, permitting reform, tax policy, and sustainable development. He has served on numerous local boards, city commissions, and state-level committees, advocating for smart growth, attainable housing, and economic revitalization. He is also a featured guest on local radio programs, often speaking on land use regulations, property taxation, and the future of Anchorage real estate.
 
Shaun’s passion for place-making and practical innovation has driven the growth of the DEBENHAM company by 4x, expanding its reach, scale, and influence in Alaskan development circles. He’s led the delivery of hundreds of residential units, focusing on market-rate and workforce housing, always with an emphasis on design integrity, long-term stewardship, and community uplift.
 
Outside of work, Shaun recharges by biking, snow skiing, hiking, camping, and spending time with his family. These pursuits keep him grounded, energized, and inspired to keep building places where people love to live.
